About Us
Introduction

MONFEMNET National Network is a non-partisan, non-governmental organization with a mission to serve as a strong driving force for the development of national, broad-based, democratic, sustainable, and transformative movements for women’s human rights, gender equality, substantive democracy, and social justice with our 19 member organizations.

Founded as the National Network of Mongolian Women’s NGOs in 2000 at the initiative of the attendees of the 5th Forum of Mongolian Women’s NGOs, it has been transformed rapidly since 2005. The Network updated its rules in 2007 and appointed its regulating body for the first time.

The charter was renewed in the 2007 Forum to assure gender equality, women’s human rights, democracy, and social justice as part of the organization’s expansion of its mandate in order to increase the breadth and depth as well as the effectiveness of its activities.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Feminism is an ideology, movement, philosophy, and way of life that calls for both personal and societal transformation. It seeks to fundamentally change the current social, political, economic, and cultural systems that are deeply entrenched in patriarchy. Feminism envisions a world where every individual has the real opportunity to live freely—free from poverty, environmental destruction, inequality, discrimination, and violence—while creatively shaping, defining, discovering, and expressing themselves.

General Objective:

  • To bring about radical transformation of all societal power structures that lead to discrimination, oppression, and exploitation based on gender, age, sexual orientation, ability, race, religion, ethnicity, location, class, caste, or heritage in pursuit of gender equality for all individuals and groups.

  • The goal is not to share the existing power and privilege of men, nor to become like men, but rather to build an entirely new social system free from violence, war, conflict, and militarization that ensures equal socio-economic and human rights for all and respects both people and the planet.
