“Space for Mutual Learning” Project Results Showcased by Civil Society Organisations
The MONFEMNET National Network organised a results-sharing event to showcase the outcomes of the “Space for Mutual Learning” Civil Society Organisation Capacity Strengthening Project.
The event brought together ten civil society organisations that presented the projects and initiatives they had implemented to advance women’s economic rights, participation, and empowerment. The showcase provided an opportunity for participating organisations to share their experiences, reflect on lessons learned, and highlight practical approaches developed through the project.
The initiatives resulted in a wide range of outcomes:
- Princess Centre established an incubator centre to support girls’ entrepreneurship and start-up businesses.
- Firefly House NGO developed a website designed to support children, young people, and adults with developmental disabilities in strengthening their independence and self-reliance.
- Beautiful Hearts NGO conducted a study examining how career choices can influence women’s economic empowerment.
- Development Assistance Centre and Women for Life Centre supported women with visual impairments who are heads of household to establish peer support groups, creating a space for mutual learning, connection, and collective development.
- Cultural Centre for Citizens with Hearing Impairments NGO organised, for the first time, a forum focused on the economic challenges experienced by women with hearing impairments, including issues related to the care economy.
- LEOS Bulgan Branch facilitated mutual learning and exchange between local communities, laying the foundation for the establishment of a women’s business incubator centre in Bulgan Province.
- Women Leaders Foundation and the National Centre Against Violence NGO conducted a case analysis of workplace sexual harassment complaint resolution mechanisms, identifying key bottlenecks and proposing recommendations to improve the process.
- Kazakh Women’s “Arular” Association provided young women with knowledge and practical skills to strengthen their economic independence.
The results-sharing event demonstrated the diversity of approaches civil society organisations can take to address structural barriers to women’s economic participation. It also highlighted the value of mutual learning, peer exchange, and locally grounded initiatives in developing more inclusive and responsive solutions.
Through the “Space for Mutual Learning” project, participating organisations were able not only to implement concrete initiatives, but also to learn from one another and strengthen connections across the civil society sector.
