“Transforming masculinities towards gender justice”
Purpose:
The “Transforming masculinities towards gender justice” training and dialogue initiative aims to foster a culture of gender equality and justice. It seeks to challenge patriarchal norms of masculinity, helping boys and men to live freely and authentically while breaking away from restrictive gender roles. The initiative also aims to strengthen national efforts to prevent gender-based violence by engaging various segments of society, particularly boys and men.
Objectives:
- To develop training programs, content, and methodologies focused on masculinities that are tailored to the needs and characteristics of youth, enhancing the masculinity approach with youth-oriented content.
- To organize training sessions grounded in the needs, experiences, and participation of young people, thereby enhancing their abilities in critical thinking, reflection, self-expression, and analysis.
- To create spaces where youth can critically examine how dominant forms and norms of masculinity in Mongolia reflect specific interests, are shaped by power relations, and impact the lives of various members of society, including girls, boys, men, women, and marginalized groups.
- To inspire young people to question dominant masculine norms and ideals through engaging and impactful training and dialogue.
