The “Nomadic Mothers” Programme is being implemented in Bornuur Soum, Tuv Province, with the aim of developing a comprehensive service model that responds to the realities and needs of herder women.
As part of the programme, the “Lake Nomads” (Нуурын Нүүдэлчид) herder women’s support group was formally established to create a regular space for women to connect, share experiences, learn from one another, and identify common challenges and priorities.
This time, we are pleased to highlight the story of A. Bayasgalan, one of the active participants in the support group.
Bayasgalan first learned about the “Nomadic Mothers” Programme through a Facebook announcement and decided to register and take part. Since joining, she has become an active member of the group and regularly participates in its meetings and activities.
Each week, Bayasgalan travels more than 20 kilometres from her rural home to attend the support group meetings. Her continued participation reflects the importance of having accessible and consistent spaces where herder women can come together, exchange experiences, and support one another.
The “Nomadic Mothers” Programme is jointly implemented by the MONFEMNET National Network, Princess Centre NGO, Beautiful Hearts Against Sexual Violence NGO, and Steps Without Borders NGO.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Thousand Currents for supporting the creation of spaces where herder women can connect, learn, grow, and collectively identify the issues and needs that matter most in their lives.
