D. Enkhjargal Featured by UNDP: “The Door to Change Opens from Within”

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Mongolia has featured D. Enkhjargal, National Coordinator of the MONFEMNET National Network, in a story titled “The Door to Change Opens from Within.”

The article traces more than two decades of her work in advancing women’s rights, addressing gender-based violence, strengthening women’s political participation, and contributing to broader systemic change in Mongolia.

It also reflects on Mongolia’s progress in women’s political representation. Following the 2024 parliamentary election, 32 women were elected to the State Great Khural, bringing women’s representation to 25.4 per cent. The article highlights that this progress has been shaped by years of advocacy and collective efforts involving women’s movements, civil society organisations, public institutions, and international partners.

The story follows D. Enkhjargal’s journey from her early work as a legal adviser supporting survivors of domestic violence to her later involvement in legal reform, women’s political leadership, and the growth of MONFEMNET as a network working for gender equality and systemic change.

As the title of the story reflects, “The door to change opens from within.”
