Representatives of organised groups, including local NGO networks and councils, came together to identify their own capacity strengthening needs and priorities based on their experiences and the realities of the contexts in which they work.
Rather than applying a predetermined approach, the process created space for participants to reflect on the challenges they face, recognise existing strengths, and identify the areas in which further learning, exchange, and support would be most useful.
The discussions also encouraged participants to learn from one another and to consider how capacity strengthening can better respond to the diverse needs of civil society organisations and networks operating in different local contexts.
This activity is being implemented as part of the “Strengthening Media and Civil Society in Mongolia” project, carried out by The Asia Foundation with financial support from USAID.
