Through Women’s Eyes Forum
A Free and Safe Civic Space:
A space that emphasizes the importance of sharing information, knowledge, experiences, and lessons, and fostering mutual learning.
An Independent Public Platform:
A platform that facilitates broad, multi-stakeholder policy discussions on neglected or distorted issues.
Diverse Representation:
A space that supports groups whose rights are violated or who are excluded from decision-making processes to represent themselves and express their perspectives.
Critical Analysis:
Aims to strengthen gender-sensitive analytical capacities based on human rights, humanitarian values, and fundamental democratic principles.
A Driving Force of the Movement:
Acts as an essential mechanism for empowering a national movement towards positive social change.
Because men’s perspectives and experiences alone are not sufficient to shape development policies and decision-making processes.
Because women’s voices and experiences are still missing from policy and decision-making arenas.
Because women often bear the brunt of flawed government policies in their families, personal lives, and through their children.
1. Influence Policy:
To present and widely discuss human rights-based, gender-sensitive analyses of systemic socio-economic, political, and cultural factors and policy issues that result in the violation of women’s human rights and gender equality — with the aim of identifying potential solutions and influencing public policy.
2. Develop Civic Space:
To develop an inclusive, independent, multi-stakeholder civic space that allows citizens and civil society to express independent positions, exchange views with government and other stakeholders, and engage in policy dialogue based on equality.
3. Strengthen the Movement:
To enhance collaboration, solidarity, and coherence among civil society organizations, groups, citizens, and stakeholders working for human rights, women’s rights, gender equality, participatory democracy, socio-economic justice, and sustainable development — thereby strengthening the national movement for progressive social change.
4. Build Capacity:
To raise awareness, deepen understanding, and strengthen the analytical capacities of stakeholders regarding human rights, women’s rights, gender equality, participatory democracy, socio-economic justice, and sustainable development, and their interlinkages and intersections.
