On 16 September 2026, a four-day participatory training titled “SASA! Together: Strengthening the Leadership, Collaboration and Human Rights-Based Advocacy of Organisations of Persons with Disabilities” began at the National Library of Mongolia.
The training is being organised by the MONFEMNET National Network at the request of Tegsh Tusgal NGO, with the participation of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth. More than 20 representatives from organisations of persons with disabilities are taking part, sharing their experiences and learning together throughout the programme.
On the first day, participants were introduced to the core concepts and approach of the SASA! methodology and explored how change takes place at both individual and social levels.
Knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, and behaviours do not change all at once. Change often happens gradually and through different stages. Building on this understanding, participants worked with examples from their own lives, organisations, and communities to reflect on what can prevent change and what can help move change forward.
The discussions also looked beyond individual effort and considered the roles of families, communities, organisations, service providers, decision-makers, and wider systems in influencing change.
Through practical exercises and shared reflection, participants explored how individual and collective participation, collaboration, and supportive environments can contribute to human rights-based social change.
In the following days, participants will continue learning together through sessions on circles of influence, activism, facilitating change, community asset mapping, power, and advocacy.
Change does not happen in a single day. It begins with understanding, participation, and collective action.
